Excursions
Zadar
Zadar is not a museum city ! Zadar is very vibrant, in summer of course, but also in winter, surely thanks to many schools and universities that give life in the streets and to the bars and restaurants! I often comes to shopping, enjoy expo, concerts etc ...
Zadar somme people like it, some do not like ! This town is totally different from Split and Trogir, this is why we can be shared ! Zadar was severely bombed during the 2 nd world war, but kept thick walls and many old monuments, churches, cobbled streets of large stone slabs shiny, I find it magical. Near that you will also find typical communist style buildings and it gives a whole a bit unreal.
You will certainly begin by going to the very end of the peninsula sea organ created by the Croatian architect Nikola Basic, a system of pipes installed under white stairs beside the sea produce mystical sounds when passing boats, there will be more waves and the sound will be more impressive. Just next door, impossible to miss the salutation of the Sun, a set of photovoltaic panels that light and where you can dance (better to be so in the evening!)
On this beach, you will attend the famous "most beautiful world at sunset" (ah ben anyway !!!) and walk quietly to follow the sea and admire its beautiful state buildings most of which are universities. & nbsp;
Then you will see the Church St. Donat which dates from the ninth century pre-Romanesque architecture, shaped rotunda. There take place all summer concerts inside to enjoy the acoustics but also outside. Also : holy church Anastasia (nice porch - the best Zadar glacier is right side). Always in front of St Donat: St. Mary Church , I love the interior decoration (Baroque - Rococo). Like many church you will have to wear long shorts and a t-shirt covering the shoulders. After you will go to the sacred art museum . One of the most beautiful religious art museum (it's not me who says it but the guide backpacker !!). Run by 20 Benedictine Sisters, there is a lapidary sections, beautiful reliquaries, wood carvings, embroidery, paintings ...
The former Museum of Glass : I love it beacause you will see on the 2nd floor, the glass blowers to work ! This will interest your children.
Then go having a drink on the spot Narodni trg : pretty square with lots of cafes, ice cream parlors and artists painter.
