Trogir
Trogir is for me the most beautiful city in Croatia, because of its stone streets so narrow, all those old houses worked with stones (towers of doors, windows, towers, covered stairs foams, but on these imposing buildings: Cathedral convent, the walls, the fish market etc ... Trogir is therefore a peninsula connected by a bridge. The hard part will be to park your car there but you still can !
Entering the peninsula you will immediately notice the colorful market on the roadside, Croatian atmosphere, a lot of people. Then the walls, beautiful. Full of beautiful wooden boats on the harbor. You will enter the city and you will immediately notice the beautiful cathedral St Laurent, one of the most beautiful cathedral in Croatia. Built in the XIII century, you can admire the Romanesque portal, made in 1420 by a Croatian artist Radovan. You can climb up the bell tower for a nice view of the city, entry included in the ticket price.
Outside, lovely terraces will call you for a stop for drinking beer (Karlovacko course!). You can also see : the Museum of Trogir, the Benedictine monastery St. Nikola (nice icons). But what you will love most, will be to walk on the streets and see the life of Croatian people who live there : delicious cuisines outdoors, rise windows that line the streets, you are so close to their window that you can guess the preparation of lunch!
Then at the corner of a lane, a restaurant in a courtyard ! it is here that I like Trogir, the feeling of being in a cocoon, surrounded by old stones. Second bridge, we reach the island of Ciovo in the Middle Ages lepers were sent and prisoners on this hill. The lepers did well finally out (sic): the island has beautiful beachfront villas, pretty little fishing ports and nice bars.
