Panorama Vrana (Vrana Lake Jezero)
This panorama is at 30 minutes from Pakostane! Beautiful pictures of Isabelle J. Watch the virtual panoramic view here: Kamenjak.
Do not miss the panoramic view at the top of this hill called "Kamenjak", you will see a great view of the lake Vransko Jezero, and the islands of Vrgada, Pasman, Murter and many others to the islands of Kornati. Depending of the weather, the show is guaranteed ! At the top of the hill you will find Sveti- Sveti chapel. Located 30 minutes from Pakostane, take the road towards Benkovac (towards the highway), then along the lake to the village of Vrana, after Caravanserai Jusuf pasha Maskovic, you will continue straight to Radasinovci. Then you'll find on your right a sign "Kamenjak" Announcing the panoramic view.
Continue, many turn and drive up the hill (stone path but you can go there by car). And there ..... view on the lake, the islands and Kornati !! Beautiful chapel. This chapel is located 305 m above sea level. It was built in 1995 on the initiative of the mayor of the village of Polace in memory of a hundred people of his town killed there during the 39-45 war . But it was not over, because of the presence of this hole 60 meters deep, and its very isolated position (there was no road at that time) a hundred other Croats were murdered in this place during the war and well after, summary executions took place until 1971.
Yet it is so difficult to understand how a place so beautiful (amazing view of the lake (Vransko Jezero), the surrounding villages (Murter Drage, Pakostane, Biograd) and the islands (Vrgada, Pasman and other .. .jusqu'aux islands KORNATI !!), people was able to do such horrors! Incredible thaht it was only in 1994 (at the end of the war), that these events were known and that a chapel was built in 1995 of stone, pure style dalmate with a dome glass which gives light inside the chapel.
An iron door was placed at the entrance, so it is possible to see all year inside the chapel with construction photos on the walls. Next to the chapel, three homes were built, still in the Dalmatian style, to welcome groups and to propose meals. All along the path leading to the chapel, stations of the cross 14 stations was established and given three times a year in a procession: St ante: to 13/6, Dusni dan: to 2/11, Friday Easter to April 9.
Leaving this panorama, stop in the basement of Mr. Troskot guaranteed authentic atmosphere and taste excellent wine with a plate of smoked ham and cheese home! Bike rental: ideal to start from the lake, a ride. Then go to see the little honey producer near Svemir. A beautiful day terroir! Entry: 20 kunas or 3 euros./ person.
